As a licensed registered nurse (BSN) and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with over a decade of experience as a Philadelphia Firefighter and Navy Corpsman, Karim brings a wealth of knowledge, diverse skills, and unwavering commitment to his role at Cater 2 You Youth Haven.

Karim's educational journey is marked by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from LaSalle University and an Associate in Liberal Arts from the Community College of Philadelphia. His comprehensive training includes certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, and Womb Care, among others, ensuring his readiness to handle a wide range of medical situations.

Throughout his career, Karim has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in clinical settings, including home health services, pediatric and behavioral health units, and emergency rooms. His current role as a Registered Nurse at Belmont Behavioral Hospital involves collaborating with medical professionals, administering medications, conducting patient assessments, and providing critical care in psychiatric emergencies. Karim’s responsibilities extend to educating patients and their families, ensuring they are well-informed about treatment plans and prepared for life post-care.

Prior to his current position, Karim's service as a Philadelphia Firefighter/EMT since 2012 has honed his skills in emergency medical response, patient care, and public health education. His military tenure as a Navy Corpsman from 2002 to 2012 further equipped him with the expertise to provide medical care in diverse and challenging environments, including combat zones.

Karim's commitment to patient care is underscored by his strong communication skills, empathy, and attention to detail. He excels in building trusting relationships with patients and their families, ensuring compassionate and comprehensive care. Her ability to engage and orientate both students and parents about the program's importance has proven instrumental in ensuring student success.

As a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania, Blair brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as a Family Therapist at Cater 2 You Youth Haven.

Dr. Blair Chase is a highly qualified professional with expertise in the field of marriage and family therapy. As a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania, Blair brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as a Family Therapist at Cater 2 You Youth Haven.

Blair's extensive educational background includes a recently obtained doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, further enhancing his ability to provide specialized care to individuals, couples, families, and groups from diverse backgrounds and with varying abilities. With a focus on art therapy, Blair is also a Board-Certified Art Therapist accredited by the American Art Therapy Association.

Throughout his career, Blair has demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment and treatment planning, utilizing a range of therapeutic approaches to address various challenges faced by his clients. His areas of clinical specialization encompass depression, anxiety, coping skills, marital conflict, parent-child relationship barriers, K-12 school support, teen parents, domestic violence, and communication.

In addition to his clinical work, Blair plays an integral role in academia as a teacher and supervisor for master’s level Art Therapy students. His dedication to education and mentoring ensures the next generation of therapists receive the necessary guidance and expertise to make a positive impact in the field.

Blair’s current research focus revolves around enhancing the relationship between professors and students by addressing the work-related stressors that impact the education environment in academia. Through his research endeavors, he aims to contribute to the growing body of knowledge in the field of marriage and family therapy and its potential benefits for students and professors."
